The female body is always a mystery. Even the blood patches in your undies can be the reason for your happiness or frustration. If you are the one keenly waiting to be pregnant you observe every little change taking place in the body.

And even the body doesn’t want to announce the happy news without any surprise. The bleeding that occurs after 10 to 14 days after conception is not always your menstrual blood. Don’t lose hope. It can be a sign of implantation.

Why Do My Periods Behave Like This? Signs And Symptoms

What Is Implantation?

Fertilisation is the process of the union of egg and sperm. This union results in the formation of a zygote. Thus zygote travels down into the Fallopian tube and gets transformed into a morula. Then morula becomes a blastocyst. This gets attached to the uterine wall.

Implantation Bleeding

During this time there is a small bleeding through the vagina. It usually occurs 10 to 14 days after conception. There is a high chance that you confuse your menstrual cycle with that of periods.

But the intensity of implantation bleeding is low, it’s lighter compared to that of periods. And if you are someone with light periods you can’t distinguish both and can’t identify it as an early pregnancy symptom.

Signs And Symptoms

As implantation bleeding is one of the signs that you are pregnant, early pregnancy symptoms allow you to detect the pregnancy or periods.

Tender, swollen breasts or nipples

  • Fatigue or feeling tired
  •  Headache
  •  Constipation
  • Morning sickness
  • Food cravings
  • Mood swings
  • Frequent peeing

Is There Any Difference Between Implantation Bleeding And The Menstrual Cycle?

  • Implantation blood is not red either it is brown or pink
  • It doesn’t last as your menstrual cycle
  • You will not experience strong cramps
  • There are no traces of blood clots or tissue in the blood

If you have strong doubt that you are pregnant, the last day you had sex will help you to figure out whether you are pregnant or not. Taking a pregnancy test will sort out  the confusion

How Long Does Implantation Bleeding Occur?

It only lasts for 1-2 days and stops normally

Diagnosis And Treatment

Usually, it stops after 1-2 days. And you don’t need any treatment. But if you are worried about heavy bleeding consult the doctor as soon as possible.

Because during ectopic pregnancy, moral pregnancy, and other early miscarriages you will experience bleeding followed by a pregnancy test. But it’s never a matter of worry.
